About Us
Individual Futures was founded in 2012 by David Rudkin and Lloyd Jackson. Drawing on our experience within Health and Social Care organisations and charities, we established Individual Futures to continue supporting adults with learning disabilities through person-centred care and support services.
After securing premises in Hartshill, it quickly became clear that the chapel we would call home had fallen into a state of disrepair after standing unused for many years. As the “before” photos show, we certainly had our work cut out for us. Every spare hour outside of our working week was dedicated to restoring the building, quite literally putting hammer to nail to bring the chapel back to life.
With vision, determination, and a shared desire to create the very best environment for the people we support, the chapel was fully restored and made safe within just six months. Thanks to some additional support of friends and family, Individual Futures was finally up and running.
The premises was warmly received by customers and has remained a real talking point for visitors ever since. Many people describe it as having a true “home from home” feel. Its versatile and welcoming layout provides the perfect setting for the wide range of activities, opportunities, and support offered through the service.
Over the years, Individual Futures has grown steadily. However, Lloyd and I have always remained committed to keeping the organisation intentionally small, preserving its personal approach and staying true to its core values, rather than expanding at the risk of losing what makes it special.
We are incredibly proud to hear from social workers, stakeholders, and the many professionals we work alongside that Individual Futures has built a strong and respected reputation within the community. It means a great deal to us that much of our growth and success has come through word of mouth and the positive experiences shared by those connected to the organisation.
A huge part of that success has been shaped by the incredible team of past and present staff members who have influenced the growth and direction of Individual Futures over the years. We feel extremely fortunate to have such a remarkable and dedicated staff team, many of whom have remained with us even through the most challenging times. Their tireless effort, compassion, and unwavering commitment to delivering second-to-none support has played a vital role in making the organisation what it is today. For that, we are truly grateful.
Above all, we continue to be guided by a genuine commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we support. By working closely with families, advocates, friends, and professionals, we strive to build trusted, long-lasting partnerships that keep our customers at the heart of everything we do, while creating the best possible outcomes for every individual we support.
